General info

The Congress will take place at ODEON, Odeons Kvarter 1, 5000 Odense C, Denmark

ODEON is the new hot spot in Odense. All facilities have been gathered under one roof - right in the center of Odense.

How to get to the Venue
The Congress Center is located in the heart of Odense and is walking distance from the railway station. From Copenhagen airport the train depart for Odense many times a day.

Good to know:
On the webpage you can enter starting and ending point of your journey and it will give you a plan, plus timetable, of how you get from A to B. It is possible to select the languages English and German.

From Copenhagen:  From Copenhagen Airport (Kastrup): Trains leave every 10 minutes from the airport to Copenhagen, where trains depart for Odense approx. every 30 minutes. The journey from Copenhagen Airport to Odense takes approx. 1,5-2 hours.
Trains going directly from the airport to Odense leaves once an hour.
Trains that are stopping in Odense, are those that have final destinations in: Odense, Sønderborg, Esbjerg, Aarhus and Aalborg.

From Billund: Take bus number 43 or 143 to Vejle Station, then find a train connection going towards Copenhagen.
Take bus number 166 directly to Kolding Station, then find a train connection going towards Copenhagen.
Trains that are stopping in Odense, are those that have final destinations in: CPH Lufthavn, Østerport St, and København H.

When arriving at Odense Train Station: The venue, ODEON, is situated close to the train station (around 500 metres)

If you prefer to go by taxi from Odense Train Station to the venue or your hotel, they are found at the taxi rank just outside the Train Station. Look for the signs at the Train Station.

The journey from the Train Station to the venue takes approx. 2 minutes. All major credit cards are accepted. The price is approximately 60 DKK.

Travel Grants (will be updated!)
The Congress organization is pleased to announce that it has a limited number of grants of € 400 available for young trainees and researchers in neuropathology to help defray part of their travel or registration expenses. The application submission deadline is 1 February 2020. We will notify applicants of the outcome by 15 February 2020. To keep your registration cost limited, please note that, except for the trainee category, early, regular and late registration fees apply.

Criteria for allocation:

  1. Active participation as a poster or oral presentation presenter in the Congress
  2. Preferential allocation to Junior investigators
  3. Preferential allocation to regions with low national GDPs including investigators from Eastern Europe, Africa, Latin and South America, Asia

Official language
The official working language at the congress is English and no translation is offered.

Passport and visa
The entry formalities for the Kingdom of Denmark vary according to the country of origin. There are no visa requirements for EU passport holders. Other congress delegates are asked to address enquiries about entry and vaccination requirements to the travel agent or to the local Danish Embassy / Consulate / Representation in the home country. All foreign citizens must be the holder of a valid passport. Further information can be obtained on

Letter of Invitation
The congress organisation will be pleased to send a formal letter of invitation to delegates requesting an invitation letter for visa purposes. It is understood that such an invitation is intended to help potential delegates to raise funds or to obtain a visa. Participants are requested to arrange for their personal travel and health insurance. Neither the Organisers (ECNP2020) nor the Congress Secretariat will assume any responsibility whatsoever for damage or injury to persons or property during the congress.

The weather in June is normally very pleasant. An umbrella may be useful. Daytime average temperature is around 23°C, evening temperature around 20°C.

Currency and money exchange
The currency in Denmark is Danish Kroner (DKK). 1 Euro is approx. 7, 45 DKK and 1 USD is approx. 6, 70 DKK as per August 2019. Credit cards are widely accepted – also in taxis.

Normal banking hours are from 10:00 to 16:00 hrs. Monday to Friday. On Thursday banking hours are extended to 18:00 hrs. There are ATMs usually located in connection with a bank branch, which accept a variety of international credit cards. The cards accepted are indicated on the dispenser.

Tips are always included in the prices given in taxis and restaurants in Denmark. Tipping is not expected but appreciated.

Smoking ban
Smoking is banned in all indoor public places and restaurants in Denmark. The congress is a no-smoking event and smoking is not permitted at the venue.

Electricity supply
Electricity is supplied at 220 volts A/C, 50 Hz cycle. Outlets are of the two round pin type.
